Delivering AI-enabled health prevention

We designed and delivered an AI-enabled mobile health prevention pilot for Thames Freeport by combining population-level data analysis, NHS partnerships, AI technology assessment, community-focused deployment, and a rigorous evaluation framework.

Delivering AI-enabled health prevention

The problem

We were engaged by Thames Freeport to lead the design and deployment of an AI enabled mobile health prevention pilot for local communities. The aim was to evidence a future model of care with clear pathways for long-term investment, sustainability, and scale.

The solution

To shape, build, and deliver a targeted pilot in under six months, we:

  • Analysed population level health data across the local area to identify priority prevention needs and define the most impactful use cases and engaged extensively with senior health leaders to refine these insights and ensure alignment with regional priorities.
  • Engaged and formed a delivery partnership with existing NHS providers to supply prevention services through the platform and developed a scalable, costed, workforce model for future expansion of the service beyond the pilot phase.
  • Collaborated with an internationally-networked innovation sourcing partner to identify and assess AI enabled technologies that could strengthen the targeting, delivery, and experience of the interventions and down-selected those we should use in the pilot phase.
  • Defined a full deployment plan, underpinned by deep community engagement, to ensure that the platform reached the communities most affected by health inequalities and generated strong, consistent demand for the service.
  • Designed a robust evaluation framework, combining clinical, operational, user-experience and equity data. This will produce an evaluation report for our client and national partners to support wider strategic learning and investment in this model.
  • Reviewed leading mobile health delivery models in the UK and globally and engaged with world class providers to explore operational constraints and opportunities for long term innovation beyond the pilot phase.
  • Engaged with potential investors; we are currently defining an investable growth plan outlining how the pilot can evolve into a sustainable, scaled model of care, backed by a compelling case for investors, sponsors and public health commissioners.

The impact

The pilot and full evaluation will complete in March 2026.
